Brookhaven Institute for Psychoanalysis and Christian Theology (BIPACT)
Eligibility for training
Prospective candidates with an MA or MS in psychology / counseling, an MSW, an MFT, a PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology, and psychiatrists with an MD or DO are eligible to apply for the one, two and three year programs. In order to begin the supervised clinical portion of the second and third year of training, candidates must be independently licensed as mental health practitioners in their respective disciplines. Candidates who have been conferred graduate degrees and are licensure-eligible may be able with faculty approval to begin the second year program prior to obtaining their license. Formal s upervision of the candidate's clinical hours will not commence until the candidate is licensed. Candidates who are not licensed are encouraged to have supervision with the understanding that these supervision hours will not qualify for BIPACT certification.
Prospective candidates with graduate degrees from other disciplines including theology/pastoral ministry and philosophy are encouraged to apply to the one-year program. Brookhaven Institute for Psychoanalysis and Christian Theology is committed to providing psychoanalytic education for all interested individuals who have completed graduate education.
