Two Year Program: Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Track
Components listed under the One-Year Program comprise the first year of training in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Track. During the second year, the requirements are as follows:
July Summer Intensive (Fogelsville, PA: July 2017) - Psychoanalysis: Clinical Perspectives
Module One (Fogelsville, PA: July 2017, in-residence at end of summer intensive): Psychoanalytic Process – Phase I (Early Treatment)
Weekly reading groups (5) continue focus of Module 1 (2 hours once weekly. Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time).
Module Two (September/October 2017) – Phase II (Middle Treatment)
Weekly reading groups (5) continue focus of Module Two (2 hours once weekly)
Module Three (January 2018) Phase III (Late Treatment)
Weekly reading groups (5) continue focus of Module Three (2 hours once weekly)
Module Four (CAPS Weekend 2018) Special Topics
Weekly reading groups (5) continue focus of Module Four (2 hours once weekly)
Complete twice-weekly psychotherapy (minimum 200 hours) with a certified psychoanalyst or psychoanalytically trained therapist (to be approved by BIPACT). BIPACT faculty and instructors are pre-approved.
Complete weekly supervision/ clinical consultation – minimum 100 hours with one patient. 50 hours shall be individual supervision (non-BIPACT supervisor is permissible with approval) with one supervisor/ clinical consultant working on one case; the remaining 50 hours will be with a BIPACT faculty member or BIPACT instructor working on the same case. BIPACT faculty and instructors are pre-approved.
NOTE: CANDIDATES WHO ANTICIPATE COMPLETION OF THE THREE-YEAR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM MUST HAVE ANALYSIS AND SUPERVISION WITH A CERTIFIED PSYCHOANALYST
